"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

For the emotion icons, when typing a comment or a reply, look to the right of where you are typing your comment. You'll see a box that has different expressions, but under that box is a link labeled "Emoticons", click that and a window will pop up, giving you a list of how to do the different emoticons.
Sure thing. There's quite alot, maybe over...300? (takin a guess here >< different emoticons. I'll play around and see if I can make up an icon for ya of Nekomusha, not sure when it'll be completed, goin to do a new one from scratch. ^^
